What lounges are open at Sydney International Airport?

Sydney's T1 international terminal caters to all international departures and arrivals. Among the lounges in Sydney available, passengers can choose to relax or work in:

Air New Zealand Lounge

Access to the United Lounge is restricted to United Airlines customers travelling in Business or First Class and elite members of the United Airlines MileagePlus loyalty program.

The Air New Zealand Lounge grants access to several categories of travellers, including:

• Business Premier passengers on Air New Zealand;
• Business-class and first-class passengers on Star Alliance airlines,
• Air New Zealand Airpoints Elite/Gold and Star Alliance Gold members,
• Air New Zealand Koru members when flying on Air New Zealand.

It comprises different areas, such as a cocktail/espresso bar, a quiet zone, shower suites, and a variety of newspapers and magazines. Moreover, the room offers views of the runway and apron, as well as ample charging points for electronic devices.

Emirates Lounge

The Emirates Lounge is designed to provide passengers with a comfortable space to relax before their flight. With a range of amenities including a bar and buffet, dining area, rest area, newspapers/magazines, and shower facilities, the rest area has everything you need for a comfortable pre-flight experience. The facility's decor is primarily beige, which is usually to everyone's liking!

The access is granted to:

• Business and first-class passengers of Emirates/Qantas,
• Emirates iO members,
• Emirates Skywards Platinum/Gold travellers,
• Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum One/Platinum/Gold passengers,
• Chairman’s Lounge members travelling on Emirates/Qantas.

Economy passengers on Emirates can also gain access for a fee of US$100 (for Skywards members) or US$130 (for non-members) plus local GST.

Qantas Business Lounge

If you're a frequent flyer looking for a little extra comfort before your flight, Qantas has a range of airport lounges that you can access depending on your ticket class and membership status. Here are the different options:

• Business and first-class passengers flying on Qantas, Qantas codeshare flights, Oneworld carriers, and Jetstar Business Max passengers all have access to Qantas lounges.
• Qantas Gold, Platinum, and Platinum One members have access to Qantas lounges when flying with China Eastern, Jetstar, Emirates, Qantas, or any other Oneworld airline.
• Qantas Club members have access when flying with Qantas or Jetstar.

The Qantas Business provides a variety of amenities, including a bar, barista coffee, waiter service dining, gelato station, children's playroom, showers, business area, newspapers/magazines, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald elite members can access the best lounge at SYD when flying on any Oneworld carrier that day. This space is situated on level 3, one floor above departures, near Gates 9/10, and accessible via escalators and lifts. The Qantas Business Class room opens daily at 5 am until the last scheduled Qantas departure.

Qantas International First Lounge T1

Welcome to the Qantas Premium Flagship Lounge! Despite its opening in 2007, it remains one of the world's finest airline T1 lounges, offering a unique retro ambience with marble and American oak wooden separators, and an old-fashioned mechanical departures board.

The relaxation centre offers a wide range of facilities:

• A complimentary 20-minute treatment spa from lagaia;
• Eight shower suites;
• A bar;
• A Rockpool restaurant;

• Complimentary Wi-Fi.

Access to the Qantas is available for:

• Oneworld Emerald members can also be accessed here.

The Qantas Premium Lounge is located on the Mezzanine level after customs. You can access it through escalators and lifts, and it remains open every day from 5 AM until the final scheduled Qantas departure, making its amenities available to you anytime.

SilverKris Singapore Lounge

According to popular opinion, many Star Alliance travellers tend to favour the adjacent Air New Zealand lounge over the Silver Kris. The Singapore Airlines Lounge is more spacious, has better coffee, and boasts a more stylish atmosphere.

Star Alliance Gold members, United Club members, and passengers travelling in first or business class on a Star Alliance airline have access to the lavish Star Alliance Lounge at Mascot.

A bar/buffet and an à la carte dining service can be found in a small section of the room, exclusively available to first-class passengers. Business and first-class customers travelling with Singapore Airlines and other Star Alliance airlines, along with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite status members (Elite Gold, PPS Club, and Solitaire PPS Club) and Star Alliance Gold cardholders, are eligible to use the facility.

Air Canada Maple Leaf Club (worldwide) can access the Air Canada Lounge if flying on Star Alliance as well as United Club members.

Centurion Airport Lounge

The Centurion Lounge is the perfect place to pamper yourself while you wait for your next international flight. With a variety of amenities available, such as locally-inspired menus and serene workspaces with complimentary Wi-Fi, your travel experience is sure to be elevated.

The Centurion room welcomes you daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, so you can take advantage of its exceptional offerings at any time.

So, if you're looking for a luxurious airport lounge experience in Terminal 1, head over to The Centurion Lounge and present your eligible American Express card and same-day boarding pass at the reception desk near Gates 50-63.

Paid-for-entry lounges at Kingsform Smith

Kingsford Smith Airport offers several paid-entry chill zones for travellers looking to unwind before their flight. These lounges at Sydney International Airport provide a range of amenities, including comfortable seating, refreshments, Wi-Fi, and shower facilities, for a fee.

The House Lounge

This place at the airport was previously the Etihad Lounge. Such an elegant place offers a la carte dining with full waiter service, a bar, a buffet, barista coffee, and fresh juices/smoothies. The room also features a children's playroom, shower facilities, a business area, newspapers/magazines, and free Wi-Fi. Included in the admission fee are a range of mouthwatering seasonal menus to choose from, as well as self-serve options and a well-stocked bar with sparkling wines, craft beers, premium spirits, and expertly brewed coffee.

The relaxation area is open from 07:00 to 21:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and from 07:00 to 22:20 on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Access to the House is granted to Etihad premium passengers and paid entry is available from AU$66 when pre-booked online. Priority Pass members receive a complimentary option with a surcharge of AU$20 to upgrade the stay for premium alcohol, a la carte dining, and showers. DragonPass members must also pay the AU$20 surcharge to enter here.

Skyteam Lounge

The Skyteam Lounge has a seating capacity for 140 guests and offers amenities such as charging outlets, complimentary Wi-Fi, work booths, and refreshments including wine, beer, and a variety of local and international cuisine.

Can I buy lounge access at Sydney Airport? Sure, bookings can be made directly on the Skyteam Lounge website. A visit is granted to first and business-class passengers on a same-day flight departure with a Skyteam airline or to Skyteam Elite Plus members flying on a same-day departure in any class. Showers with complimentary amenities are available, and a private room with a TV is also provided upon request. The price is around AU$80.

The room works from 06:00 to 21:30 every day. Non-SkyTeam customers can enquire about a walk-in rate by contacting SkyTeam reception at +61 2 9693 4550.

Plaza Premium Departures Lounge

The Plaza Premium Departures lounge at Mascot International Airport is designed to provide travellers with a comfortable and luxurious experience before their flight. The facility offers a range of amenities, including comfortable seating areas, complimentary food and beverages, high-speed Wi-Fi, shower facilities, and a selection of reading materials. Additionally, Plaza Premium offers a stunning panoramic view of the airport runway, allowing passengers to watch planes take off and land.

The lounge is available to paying passengers, DragonPass members, and American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders starting from AU$38.30. Children under the age of 2 can enter for free. You can book the Plaza Premium Lounge at T1.

Located after security near Gate 25-26 in Pier B, the Plaza Premium Departures chill zone offers an all-inclusive entry that includes drinks from the AeroBar serving local wines, craft beer, spirits, and barista-made coffee. Guests can also indulge in a wide range of freshly prepared dishes featuring Aussie classics and global favourites. It also features free Wi-Fi, convenient charging points, a TV, and accessible facilities.

Plaza Premium Arrivals Lounge

The Plaza Premium Group welcomes walk-ins to their charming and cosy arrivals space, which can accommodate up to 40 guests. The room offers a full buffet breakfast, refreshing drinks, and complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as shower facilities for guests to freshen up after a long flight.

Whether you're arriving or departing, the Plaza Premium Arrivals room is the perfect place to recharge and refresh. Working hours are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm daily and this area provides Aussie classics, freshly made coffee, speciality teas, and other signature beverages. It also features convenient charging points, a TV, and accessible facilities.

Opened in August 2022, the Arrivals Plaza is the first and only arrivals rest area, located at Level 1 Arrivals B (public area), one floor below check-in and departures. It is situated within the Plaza Premium-run Aerotel airport hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of the airport.

The Plaza Premium Arrivals department is open to paying passengers (starting from around AU$40), as well as American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders. Children under the age of 2 can enter for free. The lounge is available to book online by choosing the date and selecting the "arrivals" lounge.

Sydney Domestic Airport lounges

Domestic Terminal 2 is dedicated to handling domestic flights for airlines other than Qantas. The terminal offers two options for passengers to relax in before their flight:

• The Regional Express.
• The Virgin Australia.

These zones provide a range of amenities and services, including comfortable seating, food and beverages, free Wi-Fi, and other entertainment options.

Regional express lounge

The Rex Lounge includes a range of amenities for its guests, such as basic snacks and drinks, a small business station, massage chairs, access to newspapers and magazines, free Wi-Fi, and limited views of the airport apron. Please note that alcoholic drinks are only served after 3 pm.

The compact room is exclusively available to paying passengers of the Australian domestic airline, Regional Express. Visitors can gain entry by paying the AU$33 entrance fee, with those on Flex fares receiving a 50% discount.

The Regional Express (REX) is conveniently located after security in the Domestic Terminal (T2), adjacent to the G2 departure area. It operates from 5:30 am to 7 pm daily.

Virgin Australia Lounge at Sydney Airport

Virgin Lounge at Domestic Terminal 2 stands out as an oasis of comfort and convenience for travellers. Boasting a contemporary design and atmosphere, the facility offers a range of amenities to help passengers unwind and prepare for their flight. These include plush seating areas, complimentary food and drinks, speedy Wi-Fi access, shower amenities, and various entertainment options such as books, magazines, and TV screens. Virgin Australia also provides a spectacular view of the runway, creating a unique and memorable experience for travellers.

If you are not eligible for entry, you can purchase a single entry pass at the door for AU$65, subject to availability. The pass is given two hours before your Virgin Australia flight departure.

For American Express Platinum cardholders flying Virgin Australia, special access is an official benefit of Australian-issued cards.

Sydney Airport lounges - Domestic Terminal 3

Qantas and Qantaslink domestic flights are catered to at Sydney Airport Terminal 3, which also includes the presence of a Qantas Club relaxation centre.

Sydney Airport Qantas Club lounge

Sydney Airport Terminal 3 boasts a spacious area called the Qantas Club, designed specifically for domestic flights. During peak hours, it can get quite busy. It is filled with natural light pouring in from large windows, providing a view of the airport apron. You can find various amenities, such as a large number of seats, a self-service bar-buffet, barista coffee, a children's corner, workstations, showers, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

• Qantas business-class passengers.
• Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold/Platinum/Platinum One members.
• Emirates Skyward Gold/Platinum.

Additionally, first and business-class passengers flying with Qantas/Emirates and connecting to a domestic flight also get entry.
