Sydney Airport is a busy transportation hub that serves millions of passengers every year. Passengers who move between buildings at Sydney International Airport may need the following information.

The distance between terminals in Kingsford Smith Airport is short. But it is important to remember that it cannot be walked. You will have different Sydney Airport shuttle options to travel between buildings for onward transfers. The method of transportation will depend on the details of your flight.

T-Bus at Sydney Airport

T-Bus connects all terminals with its route. The service is operated by Transportation for NSW and provides a cost-effective way to travel between the airport's terminals and car parks. T-Buses are modern and comfortable with air conditioning. This airport shuttle in Sydney is free. The T-Bus ride takes about 10 minutes. Departures are happening 2 times per hour.   • First Bus departs at 05:30 from T1 and T2/T3.
  • Last bus departs at 21:30 from T1 and T2/T3.

Bus stops are located outside of the arrivals area in all terminals at Sydney International Airport.

Starting November 29, 2022, the stop at T1 will be temporarily moved to bus bay 11 inside the bus parking area. The exact location of the stop is at the arrivals level in front of the Rydges hotel.

Sydney Airport train

The Airport Link connects T1 and T2/T3. The trip takes only 2 minutes. A one-way ticket for the airport train in Sydney costs AU$8.60. If a traveller uses an Opal card, the trip may become cheaper. Airport Link operates seven days a week from 05:00 to 00:00.

Taxi at SYD Airport

There are taxi ranks outside of all buildings at SYD. Signs will lead you to the closest rank. On average, a taxi ride between terminals takes up to 10 minutes. Sydney Airport bus

Airport shuttle bus in Sydney runs between Eastgardens and Burwood and makes a stop at Sydney International Airport. Stops at Terminals 1 and 3 are located outside on the arrivals level.

You can use an Opal Card or any credit card to buy a ticket. The price of a one-way ticket varies throughout the day from AU$1.60 to AU$3.20. During rush hour, the price is higher.

Opal Card

Opal Card allows you to save money on purchasing tickets for public transportation. The card can be added value, reloaded, and reused for payment. This smart card makes any transactions and allows you to pay for all public transportation.

Buses to/from Kingsford Smith

Buses stop at WestfieldBurwood, Westfield, Victoria St, Burwood, Eastgardens, Burwood Station, Bunnerong Rd, Campsie, SYD Airport, Beamish St at North Pde, Wickham St at Segenhoe St, Kingsgrove, Arncliffe, Bexley Rd, Bexley North Station, and Clemton Park Shops.

You will need an Opal Card or MyBus to buy a ticket. They can be purchased at the ticket office, or you can get a one-way ticket from the driver on the bus. The cost of the ticket for ground transport at Mascot depends on the distance you travel.

Buses run 7 days a week from 04:40 to 01:43. Remember that the schedule can change, so it's best to check before you plan your trip. Bus stops are located at T1 and T3 on the arrivals level.

Train to/from Sydney Airport
